The American Association of Endocrine Surgeons invites you to attend the 39th Annual Meeting of the AAES at the Washington Duke Inn located in Durhamn, North Carolina. The meeting will take place from Sunday, May 6 through Tuesday, May 8, 2018. Some sessions may also occur at the JB Duke hotel nearby.
AAES is the leading endocrine surgery association in North America. Last year, there were nearly 500 attendees at the Annual Meeting, including a large number of National and International Endocrine Surgeons, Otolaryngologists, Endocrinologists, and other Allied Health Members from community-based practices to academic institutions.
As always, the meeting will feature our traditional scientific sessions for oral and poster presentations as well as the Presidential Invited lecture and the Orlo and Carol Clark Distringuished Lecture in Endocrine Surgery. Among these are symposia on thyroid cancer, the business of endocrine surgery, interesting case presentations, and leadership in surgery.
Also, the AAES will host a new Advanced Endocrine Surgery Course as an opportunity to review current standards in management of complex endocrine diseases, while engaging on a personal level with nationally recognized authorities in the field. The course will be structured as case presentations to a multi-disciplinary panel of experts in the area of thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal disease. This will be offered to attendees on the Saturday preceding the meeting (May 5). Our fellows will also receive the latest updates in Endocrine Surgery by an outstanding faculty at the 9th Annual Endocrine Surgery University!
The Durham area and its beautiful spring climate will allow for our always popular golf and tennis tournaments and the Fun Run/Walk. Famous for adventure resorts, Durham and the surrounding area present some fun opportunities for daytime and evening events to enjoy with your AAES friends and your family – look to the AAES website for highlights of social events in the upcoming months.
