On-site COVID-19 Safety Protocols

The safety of the members and attendees is of utmost importance to AAES. AAES is working with the Hilton Downtown Cleveland Hotel to ensure that all safety protocols on the federal, state and local levels are being met and that our attendees feel safe. AAES is highly recommending all attendees be vaccinated before attending the 2022 Annual Meeting.

Additional Precautions:

  • The Hilton Cleveland Downtown will have hand sanitizer stations located throughout our meeting space. We ask that everyone be extra vigilant in proper hand hygiene.
  • Hand-shaking and hugging should be minimized or avoided.
  • While masks are not currently required for vaccinated persons in Ohio, the AAES is requiring the use of masks during the 2022 Annual Meeting regardless of vaccination status. Hilton staff will be masked regardless of vaccination status.
  • Participants will have an option to utilize name badge stickers or ribbons to indicate comfort level with distancing and masking.
  • Whenever possible, we will have reduced numbers seated at tables, allowing for social distancing between participants while seated.
  • Attendees are asked to self-monitor for symptoms. Anyone with symptoms should seek testing and follow-up according to the results.
  • In addition to the waiver completed by all attendees during the online registration process, all attendees will be asked to complete an attestation form in the days leading up to the conference to enhance awareness of potential COVID-19 symptoms. Click here to view a sample of the attestation form.

AAES is closely monitoring any developments pertaining to COVID-19 and the Omicron variant. AAES staff and leadership will make informed decisions about the 2022 Annual Meeting based on sound information and guidance provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We will also coordinate with our host venue, the state of Ohio, and the city of Cleveland. We will make every possible effort to ensure the Annual Meeting is preserved and advise you as soon as possible regarding any modifications to the existing plan.
