Applications to be an AAES Visiting Professor for the 2026-2027 Academic Year are NOW OPEN

The American Association of Endocrine Surgeons is pleased to announce the 2026-2027 Visiting Professorship Program. This program is designed to increase the national visibility of rising stars in endocrine surgery by offering the opportunity to be an invited speaker at one of the country’s premier institutions. The Visiting Professorships are open to Active members of the AAES who are faculty members at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

There will be 2 categories of applicants- Early-career (first 4-7 years of practice) and Mid-career (first 8-15 years of practice). We ENCOURAGE re-applications if you were not selected in the past.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, four individuals will be selected to present at one of the following host institutions. The host institutions will reimburse the awardee’s cost of travel and accommodations.

  1. Medical College of Wisconsin
  2. University of Alabama
  3. University of Utah
  4. Vanderbilt University

The application requirements include:

  1. Completed application form emailed to AAES Headquarters at [email protected]
  2. Letter of interest addressing the potential impact of this program on your career.
  3. Curriculum vitae.
  4. Proposed Topic(s) - e.g. hot topics or reviews, research, education, etc. Please include 3 educational objectives for each topic.
  5. 1-to-2-minute video recording of a sample slide from a presentation.
  6. Ranking of institutions, in order of preference.

Application materials are due by 11:59pm PST on February 15, 2026. The Career Development and Leadership Committee will review all applications and make final determinations regarding the four 2026-2027 Visiting Professors. Applicants will be notified of a decision by March 26, 2026.
