The Helen F Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute (HFGCCRI) is seeking a full-time fellowship trained Endocrine Surgeon. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in thyroidectomy, parathyroidectomy and adrenalectomy. An interest in clinical research is encouraged. The desired candidate should possess strong leadership and teaching ability, and would work in conjunction with residents and fellows via Christiana Care’s ACGME accredited general surgery residency training program. The HFGCCRI, a National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program, is part of ChristianaCare Health System, one of the country’s largest health care systems, ranking as the 18th leading hospital in the nation and 11th on the East Coast in terms of patient admissions. With more than 224,000 patient visits last year, the Graham Cancer Center is recognized as a national model for multidisciplinary cancer care and a top enroller in U.S. clinical research trials (National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program-NCORP).Annually there are 3,400 newly diagnosed cancer patients seen at the HFGCCRI. Its Cawley Center for Translational Cancer Research, Tissue Procurement Center, Gene Editing Institute, statewide High-Risk Family Cancer Registry with 8 full time genetic counselors, Society of Surgical Oncology breast surgery fellowship and collaborations with world-renowned scientists at The Wistar Institute in Philadelphia are opening new avenues to more quickly translate cancer science into cancer medicine. Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, Delaware, is part of the ChristianaCare Health System, a Magnet® non-profit health care organization, with over 1,336 beds between its three hospitals (Christiana Hospital, Wilmington Hospital and Union Hospital).
