This position offers the chance to work with a multidisciplinary team that delivers outstanding thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal care while advancing the field of endocrine surgery through teaching and research.Position HighlightsExclusive Endocrine Surgery Role: * Join a team of two experienced endocrine surgeons managing thriving, well-established practices.* Includes a full faculty appointment in the Clinician Educator Track, with opportunities for academic growth and leadership.* In addition to clinical duties, the surgeon will participate in resident/student teaching and clinical research* Designed as a 100% endocrine surgery position with limited emergency breast surgery coverage.State-of-the-Art Facilities: High-quality office and intraoperative ultrasound equipment (GE) with ambulatory fine-needle aspiration (FNA) capabilities, including cytology support. Intraoperative parathyroid hormone (PTH) assay with a rapid 14-minute turnaround located directly in the operating room. Parathyroid autofluorescence technology is available for intraoperative use. Nerve monitoring Advanced laparoscopic and robotic equipment for adrenalectomy procedures, enabling minimally invasive techniques.Collaborative Environment: Biweekly multidisciplinary tumor board meetings, promoting a multidisciplinary team approach to complex cases. Partnership with the Hollings Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated center, providing access to cutting-edge research and treatment options. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team that includes specialists in endocrinology, cytopathology, nuclear medicine, radiation oncology, speech pathology, medical oncology, and genetic counseling. Support for impactful research initiatives using comprehensive endocrine surgery databases of thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal conditions.Candidate Requirements: Successfully completed an accredited general surgery residency program and an AAES-accredited endocrine surgery fellowship. American Board of Surgery certification or eligibility for certification. Qualifications for obtaining a full and unrestricted South Carolina medical license.
