The Division of Surgical Oncology in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is a seeking to recruit an Endocrine Surgeon to support the Endocrine Surgery Center of Excellence at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center (BSLMC). The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery and Baylor College of Medicine are committed to excellence in surgical care, education and research. Ideally situated in the heart of the world's largest medical center, the 180 faculty members of the Department practice in the Texas Medical Center at iconic institutions, including BSLMC, Texas Children's Hospital, Ben Taub General Hospital, and the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC). The BCM Division of Surgical Oncology performs a high volume of thyroid and parathyroid related surgical procedures annually at two affiliated hospitals. The Endocrine Surgery program at BSLMC is rapidly growing and is an internationally renowned leader in the specialty of scarless thyroid and parathyroid procedures. Substantial resources will be available to the successfully recruited candidate to further grow and develop a nationally prominent clinical and research program in endocrine surgery.Minimum QualificationsIdeal candidates will have an established track record of clinical excellence in Endocrine Surgery. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching surgical learners, and leading clinical and translational research efforts. Completion of a certified endocrine surgery fellowship is required, and the candidate must qualify for a full and unrestricted Texas medical license. An established track record in clinical research is preferred.
