Endocrine Surgery/Surgical Oncology Position

Wake Forest - Advocate Health Department of General Surgery, Section of Surgical Oncology is recruiting a board-certified surgeon with advanced training in endocrine surgery through an Endocrine Surgery or Complex General Surgical Oncology fellowship to join our clinically busy, academic practice. Requirements include demonstrated expertise in thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal operations and potentially general surgical oncology. The ideal candidate will be; academically-oriented, contribute substantially to the education and training of our students, residents and fellows, support of clinical trials, and oncologic/endocrine research. We are currently seeking assistant or potentially associate professor level candidates. Rank will be commensurate with experience.

The Section of Surgical Oncology at Atrium Health- Wake Forest Baptist is internationally recognized for its HIPEC program and includes 8 surgical oncologists including 1 endocrine surgeon. Together we perform >1,500 major oncologic and endocrine operations annually and work collaboratively to provide evidence-based, multidisciplinary care to our patients. We sponsor a Complex Surgical Oncology Fellowship approved for one fellow per year and are an integral component of the residency training program which includes 45 general surgery residents. Last year our faculty published over 50 manuscripts and maintain research support with over $6 million in funding including 2 recent R-01 grants for our organoid research center.
