Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor of Endocrine Surgery

The Department of Surgery at the University of Virginia (UVA) invites applications for a position as an Endocrine Surgeon in the Division of Surgical Oncology. The incumbent is responsible for the clinical care of patients with Endocrine Surgical disease and participation in student, resident, and post-graduate teaching. Clinical and laboratory research opportunities are available. The selected candidate will further scholarly achievements with the goal of promotion within the School of Medicine and the University. Rank and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive ability to provide surgical evaluation and management of benign and malignant diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. Completion of a Comprehensive Endocrine Surgery or Surgical Oncology fellowship with focus in endocrine disease, or significant past clinical experience in these clinical areas is required. Clinical opportunities beyond Endocrine Surgery may be available based on the clinical expertise and interest of the candidate and available clinical volume. Enthusiastic participation in student and resident training and education is essential. Interested individuals must possess a strong interest in a career in academic medicine as demonstrated through past experience with research or teaching pursuits and a prepared proposal for an academic career path. Candidates must have an MD or MD, PhD and be board eligible or board certified in General Surgery.
