Regional Endocrine Surgeon

MedStar Health is seeking a BC/BE endocrine surgeon to help us develop a regional endocrine surgery program for MedStar's Baltimore region. This is an incredible opportunity for a candidate looking to help join a rapidly growing regional Department of Surgery. Candidates should be excellent communicators and clinicians, have exceptional surgical technique, and have leadership qualities with strong interests in supporting resident/medical student education. The ideal candidate should have completed an ACGME accredited general surgery residency and an endocrine surgery fellowship. The candidate also should be able to provide the full spectrum of surgical care for benign and malignant endocrine disease. In addition, some general surgery call will be required. Support for advanced training in robotic surgery can be offered. The region’s flagship hospital, MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center (MFSMC) is opening a new 80,000 square foot operating room pavilion, is home to a busy robotics program as well as a long-standing general surgery residency. Faculty appointments and collaboration opportunities exist with Georgetown University School of Medicine and their renowned Division of Endocrine Surgery. MedStar Health is a large, not-for-profit healthcare corporation providing services in central/southern Maryland and the District of Columbia. As part of their Distributed Care Delivery Network, MedStar operates four acute care hospitals providing inpatient services in the Baltimore region. This region is comprised of MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, MedStar Union Hospital, MedStar Harbor Hospital, MFSMC and over fourteen outpatient sites. Opportunities for research/product development exist within the MedStar Health Research Institute and the MedStar Innovation Institute.
