The Department of Surgery at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina, is seeking candidates for the position of Chief, Section of Endocrine Surgery. Successful candidates will be board-certified in general surgery and will have an established reputation in the field of endocrine surgery; fellowship training in surgical oncology or endocrine surgery is preferred. Duke is a world-renowned referral center for advanced endocrine cancers and inherited endocrine syndromes, including-MEN1, MEN2A, MEN2B, Von Hippel-Lindau, Cowden syndrome, Paraganglioma syndrome, hereditary pheochromocytoma syndrome Duke’s endocrine surgery faculty have extensive experience in state-of-the-art thyroidectomy, parathyroidectomy, adrenalectomy, and pancreatic resections for cancer and benign diseases. They perform more than 1,200 cases per year and have collectively performed more than 15,000 endocrine operations. They perform minimally invasive surgery, including-minimal access thyroidectomy, robotic thyroidectomy, minimally invasive parathyroidectomy under local analgesia, laparoscopic and robotic adrenalectomy, and posterior retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy Qualified candidates will be recognized academic clinician-scientists with a history of external peer-reviewed research funding, have clinical expertise and proven leadership and interpersonal skills, and express a strong interest in advancing the major missions of the department: clinical service delivery, education, research and citizenship. The Chief will be responsible for developing and coordinating a robust, sustainable research effort. The Section Chief of Endocrine Surgery reports to the Division Chief of Surgical Oncology in the Department of Surgery. The Division of Surgical Oncology oversees the Sections of Breast Surgery, Melanoma and Sarcoma Surgery, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Colorectal Surgery and Endocrine Surgery. The Department of Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso is seeking a fellowship trained endocrine surgeon with a strong interest in developing a career in academic surgery. The position is a full-time appointment at TTUHSC-EP and the salary is competitive. TTUHSC-EP and Tenet Healthcare are collaborating in an exciting opportunity to establish a major new clinical and educational site, known as Transmountain, in west El Paso. The project includes a 140 bed teaching hospital and a 110K sq. ft. Medical Office Building. The Department of Surgery, MedStar Washington Hospital Center, is seeking a surgeon to join the Section of Endocrine Surgery. The selected candidate will be eligible for faculty appointment within the Georgetown University School of Medicine. The criteria for appointment are superior clinical abilities, a track record of peer-reviewed original research publications, between three and five years clinical practice experience and excellence in teaching. Strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative nature, and dedication to providing care within a multidisciplinary system are essential. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and be certified by the American Board of Surgery. Fellowship training in either Endocrine Surgery or Complex Surgical Oncology with a focused interest in surgical endocrine disease is required. The selected candidate will join three existing faculty members within a thriving and dynamic academic endocrine surgery program. We currently perform a diverse mixture of thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, pancreatic and inherited endocrinopathy cases including retroperitoneal and laparoscopic approaches. The clinical workload is weighted toward high complexity and re-operative cases drawn from a local population of 10 million as well as a wide national and global referral base. Clinical duties include endocrine surgery emergency call. Compensation is commensurate with AAMC standards.
