The Division of Surgical Oncology in the Department of Surgery is seeking an exceptional academic Endocrine Surgeon to join our elite team of experts at The Ohio State Wexner Medical University (OSUWMC) along with The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (The James), one of 49 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers. The ideal candidate will provide exemplary endocrine multidisciplinary patient care; have a discernable academic and research trajectory or track record; as well as be an enthusiastic teacher of medical students, residents, fellows, as well as other healthcare professionals. The position requires a strong participatory interest in service commitment to relevant local, regional, national and international professional organizations and programs. The rank of appointment is open and will be determined commensurate with prior professional and academic accomplishments. Qualifications: • American Board of Surgery eligible or certified in general surgery; • Completion of a fellowship in surgical oncology or AAES fellowship in endocrine surgery; • Eligible for a State of Ohio Medical License; • Qualify for an academic appointment – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience. The Division of Surgical Oncology, under the direction of Dr. Allan Tsung, focuses efforts on multi-disciplinary approaches to the evaluation and management of cancer. Our goal is to provide excellence in clinical cancer care; to educate medical students, residents, and fellows; and to conduct innovative translational research. The unique relationship of the Division of Surgical Oncology with the College of Medicine and the James Comprehensive Cancer Center allows for multi-disciplinary collaboration and integration of cancer research and clinical cancer care. The Endocrine Surgery group has a robust clinical practice encompassing all aspects of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal disease, including robotic expertise. The group has the third busiest robotic Adrenalectomy program in the country. The Ohio State thyroid cancer group is particularly strong, with world-renowned physicians in Endocrinology and Medical Oncology, as well as both an NIH Program Project grant and SPORE grant encompassing all aspects of thyroid cancer research.
