The Gastrointestinal and Minimally Invasive Surgery (GMIS) division of the Oregon Clinic is seeking a fulltime general surgeon with an interest to further develop an endocrine surgery practice. The position serves two major tertiary hospitals in Portland, Oregon. The Oregon Clinic is the largest physician owned and operated practice in Oregon with over 30 different medical and surgical specialties. GMIS is a thriving surgical division of the Oregon Clinic and our 16 surgeons make up a multi-specialty practice that includes Colorectal, Endocrine/Breast, General, Foregut and Hepatobiliary surgery. Our physicians who are regional leaders in advanced minimally invasive techniques are dedicated to teaching and research. The ideal candidate will: - Be board certified/eligible general surgeon. - Be Fellowship trained in endocrine and /or oncologic surgery. - Be interested in performing general surgery procedures including call coverage. - Be committed to a multidisciplinary approach in management of complex endocrine disorders. - Be motivated to promote expansion of the endocrine division with outreach efforts. - Be well trained in minimally invasive surgical techniques. - Be committed to teaching students, residents and fellows. - Have an established record of successful research and be committed to leading clinical research . - Immunotherapy research background preferred, but not required.
